What’s a good Canadian Fishing Trip?

Anyone know of a good / cheap fishing vacation in Canada?
I live in MN and could bring my own boat.
(Actually, there would probably be about 6 of us with 2 or 3 boats)
We are looking for a nice lake, with Walleye,Northern and Muskies.
We want a cabin or two and just a little help telling us where to fish on the lake. Not really looking for a guide. We are pretty self sufficient that way.
Fun is the #1 thing we would want.
Thanks…..

The last time I went up there we went to Lac Seul. It has everything you are looking for and more. Sioux Lookout is the closest town but we never made it there. The English River runs into and through it and it’s chalk full of walleye, northern, big muskie and really nice smallies. We also caught a bunch of sauger and perch. I can’t remember the name of the resort we stayed at but it was nice. We had 6 or 7 of us in one cabin. We fished on Vaughn Lake quite a bit, it’s part of the chain, and literally were catching 20 walleye an hour per person. It was post spawn and they really had the feed bag on in the 10′ to 12′ sandy flats. We basically just used a hook with a leech and a split shot about a 1 1/2′ above it. Try to go up in early July, my buddy is always up there for the 4th, because that’s when they have recovered from spawning and are really active. We stayed somewhere on the southern side of the flowage and did not target anything other than walleye. We still caught plenty of northern and smallmouth. I have heard that it is one of the finest fisheries for muskie that there is. You go through International Falls and around Rainy Lake some but it won’t be that far of a trip for you. Good luck!
